Gerle Gold Ltd. announces drilling begins in Mexico
January 22, 1995
A reverse circulation drill program at the Pragedia Project in Sonora, Mexico, will explore a volcanic-hosted epithermal fault zone structure. Portions of this shear zone have been subjected to historic high grade mining. During 1995, extensive sampling of the old workings returned an average grade of 3.1 grams per tonne gold and 30.3 grams per tonne silver over a width of 30 metres.

The initial program of up to 1,000 metres of drilling will include a number of drill hole sections across the zone.

In addition to the main zone which has a strike length of two kilometres and is up to 50 metres in width, several parallel zones occur in the area. To cover the mineral potential, the land position has been expanded to approximately 1,000 hectares. Part of this land has been acquired directly by staking and part by securing an option to purchase the Tragedia claims. Terms of the option call for payments of $205,000 US, in cash, over 4 1/2 years and a 3% net smelter return royalty capped at $1,000,000 US.

Minera Rio Sonora, S.A. de C.V. owns or has the options to acquire, 100% of the properties comprising the Pragedia Project. Rio Sonora Resources Ltd., a private Canadian company, owned as to 50% by Laramide Resources Ltd. (TSE-LAM) and 32% by Gerle Gold Ltd. (GGL-VSE), controls 100% of Minera Rio Sonora, S.A. de C.V.
