Mr. Lau brings to GGL a unique combination of geology and law and business knowledge. He first graduated with a B.A.Sc. in geological engineering from the University of Toronto in 1962, then obtaining an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia in 1965. He was called to the bar in 1966.

Until 1988, he was a partner with the law firm of Bull, Housser & Tupper where he practiced almost exclusively in the area of mining law and related fields, acting for a number of clients in all sectors of the mining industry, including major companies and junior resource issuers and prospectors. He is intimately familiar with industry practice relating to the acquisition and disposition of mineral lands and interests. In addition, for more than 10 years, he lectured on prospector and mining agreements to the prospector classes given by the British Columbia & Yukon Chamber of Mines. He is a well known lecturer and expert on the laws governing mining and exploration in Canada. His expertise in mining agreements has been invaluable to GGL.
